ADRIAN MUTU

Former Romanian international Adrian Mutu has decided to continue his playing career at least for the next few months after joining IPL club FC Pune City. The Indian Premier League completed a very successful first season complete with superstars like Nicolas Anelka.

Amidst rumours that they were about to attract the likes of Ronaldinho and several other great former players, they have prepared for the new campaign by bringing in the former Chelsea striker. Mutu had a difficult few years after joining Chelsea, but he appears to have recovered from the long ban that was imposed after being found guilty of testing positive for cocaine.

Since then, his career resumed with the likes of Juventus and Fiorentina while recently ending his European career with Romanian club Petrolul Ploiești. Despite testing positive for cocaine and suffering a lot as a result, Mutu is regarded as a fine footballer nonetheless. His signing will represent a major coup for Pune in the upcoming IPL campaign. Pune City CEO Gaurav Modwel stated that the immense experience that the player brings will be of great importance to the team, while the goal scoring attributes of the striker are second to none.
